It’s that time of the year when we take over at The Victoria Hotel for a celebration of Celtic music and song! From early afternoon and into the evening you’ll be able to relax in the covered beer garden, sing along with some of your favourite songs and dance to those toe tapping jigs and reels.
This year we are joined by our very good friends The Wild Irish from Birmingham. If you haven't heard these guys before then hold on to your glasses and get ready to be impressed.
The band features the legendary fiddle playing of Donegal’s Brian Patton alongside the fine voice and driving guitar work of Pete Kelly. Completing the line up is Simon Hayward on bass guitar. They have worked with some of the greats of Irish music including Paddy Reilly, the Fureys and The Davy Arthur Band and there are even stories of them supporting Ska legends Bad Manners but we couldn't possibly repeat those!!
The Wild Irish will be starting off our day at 2.30pm so get down in plenty of time to grab a seat.
CeltFest is an event close to our hearts and is held in memory of our dear Friend Neil Kelso who was the landlord whose vision and perseverance brought the Victoria Hotel back to life. Proceeds from the day will go towards the Victoria's ongoing support of the internationally renowned John Van Geest Cancer Research Project based at Nottingham’s Trent University.
